Happy things!

First off, I wanna throw a shout-out to my amazing little brother, Walt :D Walt is my 19 yr. old, extremely attractive (from what I hear), 6'2" man-of-a-brother. He is an insanely talented piano player and beader (making a fully-beaded Native American Crow Tribe-inspired outfit). He is also an excellent chef, and always dresses classy. This young man has taught me a lot in how to treat the women in my life and showing respect to my parents as well. He has also reinforced that quality time with the family is important. I know when I move out, he will weep openly. I enjoy being around him, and especially biking or climbing with him. It's fun biking with him to have someone who pushes my skill level constantly. Also, it is fun to run around and chat with him, because urban legend states that we are identical in speech, but looks are different. This really makes both of us laugh. So there's my brother, Blair Walton Packer. Look for more news coming as he decides to do more things with me.

I have many things to write. I think it's been a while since I have written...

That pause was me looking to see exactly how long...it appears over 2 weeks...my bad!

So, this last week has been a good one! I have got back on the ol' bicicleta and rode hard at Green Canyon yesterday...even though it was danged muddy. I'll have to post the vid on Fbook and youtube. Gotta keep adjusting the camera angle on that one.

So, highlights of the last week:

1. The weekend (particularly Saturday)
2. Tuesday night
3. Chatting with good friends

1. The weekend:

Here's how it goes down. So, Friday was Melissa Phillips and Jacob Thomas's reception. Great times with great friends. Been a while since I've had so many eclairs and cheesecake all at the same time. I had 3 little girls trying to kill me for most of the evening, but did get away enough to chat with Ben Phillips (my adopted brother) and see some other friends of mine. The Phillips family is pretty much one of my second families. Ben Phillips and I went to high school together, along with my other good buddies, Kyle Kelley, Brandon Storer, and Nathan Harris (mentioned previously in my blog). We dawned the label of "Clan RYNO" to describe ourselves as we spent many hours in intense shenanigans during the high school years, and even beyond. These are all dear friends of mine, and we are all adopted into each other's families. So, it was Ben's older sister who had her wedding. Good on her! It was a great time, and very fun.

I promptly (haha...ish) packed up and headed out to Tyler Dietrich's house (Grandparent's house, where he is dwelling for the summer) in Bluffdale. That is waaaay out there, fyi. So, had a good chat down there with Brent Falor and I loaned him my GoPro cam for a bike race he was doing. These are both good biker friends of mine, and Tyler is one of my best friends for helping me be more active in temple attendance. Good kid. Stayed there, had a good chat with Tyler and his GPa's in the morning, and headed out to West Valley to visit Sitney Chogas (mission companion from Huanuco, Peru). We chatted and he dropped me off at temple square, where I attended a sealing from a young lady who's mother I taught while in Orlando on my mission. It was a very special event and quite delightful. Even if I did show up an hour early and sat forever in a waiting room...haha. Also, I met a man there who told me, "life is about being in the right place at the right time, and living how you should (living the Gospel)". Very true. The couple getting sealed was the daughter of Hermana Rosa Valdivieso :) Also, I saw another family from Orlando there, la familia Najera! Hmo. Najera was a ward mission leader for me in Kissimmee Florida, in the Osceola Spanish Branch. It was a delight to see his family as well :) Overall, an amazing experience at the temple. (like always ;)) Then, I met up with Weston Allred, a new biking buddy of mine, and helped him get a good deal on a new bike, since he cracked his old one. Good to see him on wheels!
